Juvenile
Birth – 4 monthsBetta fish grow fast in their first months, developing their colors and fins. A cycled, heated aquarium and small, frequent meals are the foundations of this stage.

Adult
4 months – 3 yearsBetween 4 months and 3 years, bettas are at their most colorful and active. Stable water quality, measured feeding and an enriched aquarium are the foundation of this stage.

Senior
3 years and olderBettas can show signs of ageing from about 3 years of age. A calmer aquarium, resting spots near the surface, easy-to-reach food and stable water quality make this stage more comfortable.
Age ranges are approximate; differences within a species (such as size in dogs) can shift the transitions earlier or later.
