Cat · Life stages

Approximate age ranges for Cat and the priorities of each stage.

  1. 1

    Kitten

    Birth – 1 years

The first year is the fastest period of change in a cat's life. Play, exploration and safe introductions now turn into lasting habits and a balanced character.

  2. 2

    Young adult

    1 years – 7 years

Young adulthood is your cat's most energetic and balanced time. The right weight, enough play and a well-arranged home are the foundation of healthy, happy years.

  3. 3

    Mature adult

    7 years – 10 years

Between 7 and 10, your cat is still lively but slowly changing. Noticing small changes early and preparing the home for the future are the keys to this stage.

  4. 4

    Senior

    10 years and older

Many cats enjoy long, happy years after the age of ten. Comfort, easy access, a calm routine and regular veterinary follow-up make this stage a good one.

Age ranges are approximate; differences within a species (such as size in dogs) can shift the transitions earlier or later.
